No, my Mom would not allow it.
I now have over 30 ball pythons and more on the waaay!!I have eggs that will hatch first week of sept.

Well I'm 16 now and I have two snakes. I've had two snakes before this. Fortunately my dad really likes reptiles too, and mom is compliant as long as she doesn't have to touch.

I had to fight hard to keep my two bettas, so as you can imagine snakes were out of the question. I was always told that once I moved out, I could keep anything I wanted.

Wow, I'm surprised to see this poll is that close to 50/50! Anyway, as for me, I did have snakes when I was younger. Mostly, they were the ones I found in the yard...ringneck's, garter, etc. I did have an Iguana, as well. To everyone who's parent's did not let them have snakes...at least you'll share the experience with your kids!!

No. My mom HATED snakes. If I would have tried to keep one, I don't know who she would've killed first; me or the snake!

Nope, I always wanted one though, probably for at least 10 years. I moved out a little over a year ago, first I got my dog, then I realized "....wait, I can get my snake now!!" and I did it!

You wouldn't believe how real a threat that is. My friend's mom just slammed the front door on her Cali king. With her body outside the house. From a weighted cage. While mom was home alone.

i got my first snake when i was about 9 or so....it was a baby garter snake. then moved on to rat snakes, kings, then boas and balls. took a break when i was in the military. a couple of years after i got out i got back into them again, but strictly pythons.
when i was about 10-11yrs old i had about 15-16 snakes in my room and was already breeding mice....in my room as well.
i'm 31 now, my mom came over last year for vacation to visit us....i asked her why did she let me keep all those snakes in my room...her response was becuase i knew you liked them....after all these years it was nice to know why she let me keep them.
