    Hi guys.

I'm a Civil engineer. I basically build big projects such as bridges, roads, buildings, drainage and services etc . . . . .

    My job is to:

    - Study the drawings and specifications
    - Set out the works so everything can be built in the right place and level and also correctly
    - Order materials and engineering equiptment.
    - Keep equiptment and labour time sheets and compile quality and inspection records.

I've been doing this now for 6 years. Before while a studied (A levels) and during holidays i worked with my brother converting lofts and with a shoppfitting company.

Im also a trained carpenter and brick layer.

I work for a health insurance company, I test the code that processes the benefits and pays the claims. There are a lot of subsystems involved but if mine isn't working right nothing else is!
So if your claim paid wrong I haven't gotten to that code change yet :P

I work fulltime in bank telephone customer service. Low-level tech support, resetting people's online passwords for them when they call in. I enjoy this job; it pays well, and my employer is pretty generous and I get along with my coworkers mostly. I get to be friendly and helpful over the phone; I used to do collections, and it is such a relief not to try to make people pay!

As for hobbies! I love gardening, and art; drawing and painting. I do this on the side, for fun, not actually as a job. I also plan on taking over my husband's duties in which he schedules himself to tattoo people; because he is often overbooking himself and really needs the help!

I hear ya, about being bored and paid to do nothing!! 90% of my shift (phone customer service) is spent reading books while waiting for the phone to ring. Needless to say, I am becoming very well-read! I have also mastered Solitaire, Spider Solitaire, and FreeCell on the computer; lol (no internet access to any fun sites, or I would be on Facebook all day)

Technically Im security but we like to say they just spelled secretary wrong. I deal with truck drivers all day. Box trucks, van trailers, rail containers and every delivery service for our shipping dept. Tank trailers for bulk loads and off loads. I "train" new drivers and visitors. I scale in and out trucks all day and communicate with everyone in the plant on almost every truck via phone and radio. Tons of paperwork and loading schedules. Its a pain when its busy but when its dead in the evening or on weekends I get bored. Some weekends I bring one of my dogs to work to keep me company. Its very up and down around here. Im trying to get hired on the inside so I just need to bide my time.

Im still in high school but I am lucky enough to have a job in a small local pet store. I absolutely love it. My boss is a great guy and very knowledgable about all types of animals. I also go to my bosses house to help take care of all his breeding tortoises and his assorted other animals.

I'm a wood worker (go ahead and laugh) but not really a carpenter because I mostly make duck bowls and cutting boards along with whatever custom item is ordered. Though I could probably make cabinets and chairs it's just a matter of learning it from my boss. I think it's a fun job, I get to make my own hours and do diffrent things most of the day.
