We weren't playing as hard tonight. We looked good saturday but some of our passing really hurt us without lappy it's just not the same. But that Lucic goal was luck, just a bad bounce really.

However Hockey fans don't miss as Crosby tries to quell the comeback canadiens coming for his cup. tonight on Verses With the series tied 1-1 and Montreal Already having a victory in penguin home ice the advantage is theirs tonight.

You are playing with your 3rd goalie your top two scorers are out and you beat Jersey. Montreal gave you the oppurtunity to play a team we ALL know you can beat and you go out and play like a bunch of pansies. I'm Philly born and live here now and I bleed orange and black but if they don't start knockin bodies they are going to be out. You allowed Milan Lucic to tee up right in the slot with 2 flyers next to him watching. What a joke. Wreckless Abandonment that's what the Flyers need to play with. Just posting/ Venting here. I dont understand how you play GREAT against New Jersey and give them a whoopin and send them packing. Then we expected to play Washington and LOSE no we get handed BOSTON on a silver platter not a gimme but we can beat them and what do we do PLAY LIKE CRAP. The play of the Flyers recently is that equivalent to my roller hockey team , hell we might have a better chance beating them. The forechecking is terrible our special teams is terrible. If dumping and chasing doesnt work the first two periods why the $%^% are you going to continue to dump it in your losing by now their playing a 2-2-1 basically playing 4 guys on D and one playing offense. Another thing is Scott Hartnall and Braydon Cobourn arent gone by next season I am going to tase Paul Holmgren personally. Trade them for a guy who can win a damn faceoff, trade them for a few powerades and some new sticks, maybe we can get some Zamboni parts for them. I dont drink but this team is going to get me to that point soon. Take your skirts off boys and play some damn hockey or just forfeit Fridays game and go the Hell home STOP wasting our time.

Honestly I think jersey was a weaker team after they traded for kovalchuck. Before they dealt Bergfors and Oduya I would have called them cup contenders.

The flyers have a history of success against jersey some teams you just do better against than others. Boston we have struggled against all year.


God I wanna move on to the EC finals. But I dunno if it's gonna happen. We lost three big guys in the jersey series. I feel that we lost to injuries this year not to any one team. It Ain't over yet, but it feels that way.

To be Honest with you, I Love the Flyers but I DO NOT want to see us play Pittsburgh or even Montreal so Im happy with chalking this season up and saying Good Job they exceeded all expectations. Lets make some deals, get a number one goalie, get everyone healthy and come back strong for the 2010-2011 season. We need defense and a Goalie. I think at 22 years Old he can be the answer and be a Long term answer, We have no good FArm goalies. Price would fit in well especially with the Pronger and Kimmo in front of him.

Emery is done he clearly couldnt handle the NHL season, we need a goalie that can withstand a full season not a KHL goalie(KHL season is only 50 games or so ) he had a nice little hoorah with us but No he is done and Leighton is a Journeyman Backup. They should have went after Turco or Giguere atleast for this playoff run.

Turco is probably my Favorite NHL Goalie. When it comes to the west I love to watch the Stars and Kings. Coyotes and preds are good to but Turco is just a god of the goal.

I suppose Price might be okay, but after seeing how porous he was against washington I just don't have alot of faith there. I think emery deserves another season before being written off.

wish i paid attention to hockey more but once i hung up the skates i hung up watching my dream job :( good luck to who ever is in the play offs and all that good stuff...:gj:

This is why I love Hockey and especially our playoff Format. ANything can happen. ANYTHING. Man this is another legendary Playoff time and it makes me happy.

I agree with you PP but you have to remember Game 1 and two we were really reeling from injuries. I breathe alot easier with Gagne back. But I still would like to see lappy and Carter back. And I hope Bouch gets well soon that must ahve hurt like hell.

Cup Playoffs 2010...Man surprises and amazing games everywhere. This is one of the best playoffs I've ever watched.

What a game can you beleive it we were down 3to 0 in the series then made it to game 7 then went doen 3 to 0 in game seven and come back and win the game and series 4-3 Unbelievable Im gonna be awake for a while

JVR scored a beauty that we needed. What I loved most was the broadcast, the announcers were hating all over the flyers and philly just shut them up.


It's times like this I hate living in bama I wanna be at wachovia center tooooooooooo.

Games like tonight's don't come often. I wish I could have a celebratory brew but I was told not to mix with my pain meds.

San Jose wins over Chicago in 5

San Jose has proven scoring abilities, they can score even when they don't want to. Just ask everyone at a certain Avalanche Sharks game. Still even though Nabokov is streaky In my mind he's among the top 10 best NHL Goaltenders.

Now lets look at chicago, I'd be a fool to say with kane and toews that they can't rack up points. But there defense is nothing to impressive and the goal tending is sub par. They got past nashville with a good helping of luck, and I've always said the Canucks are a weak team that relies to much on luongo and the Sedins.

Some may say otherwise but until Chicago can play better in there own zone I think they'll continue to languish in the Western finals. Plus they have the Hossa Curse.

Your dang right I am sally tap shoes but this is my post. I expect this series to be hard fought and some of the best hockey of the year. I expect Camalerri, Gionta, and Halak to really play there best.

But I think there defense is gonna lighten up and play more offensively than they did against Washington and Pittsburgh and I think that will be there downfall. For all the praise Halak has given Philly has made short work Of "Elite" Goal tenders all year. Broduer looked like a joke against Giroux who had his number throughout that entire series.

The biggest thing that could hurt the Flyers is Confidence. To much or to little will sink them. Whats needed is consistant hard play. And following there system.

Injury has been a specter over the flyers all year. Injury has taken Lappy, Carter, And made us play goalie roulette all year. Leighton's good health now is key. I personally keep hope that if we can take this series that we may get lappy and carter back for the cup game but I dunno.


Either way I expect this series to be the best of the year. It wouldn't surprise me to be wrong but I hope I won't be.

EDIT: And I think I am bitter abit on chicago because I hate hossa. Aside from the Flyers Atlanta is my second favorite team, and him leaving atlanta and being such a mercenary really made me hate him. I can't deny there scoring power but I think there goaltending is to weak for them to win it.

Ah PP I am jealous.

We rocked the SO HARD tonight. It's to early to count them out. Pittsburgh beat them pretty well in there first match, But we shut them out and I think took alot of confidence out of them.

If we can win again tuesday I think it will be a huge blow to montreal. they are counting to make our home ice not matter.

Niemi Played the whole year though. And Boucher is injured. LEIGHTON is betweem the pipes for us. He just pitched back to back shutouts and he had to split his time this yer bewteen three goalies! So his stats are lower than they should be.

One game no, but chicago has played kinda sloppy this year. I still think they beat nashville out of pure luck. Yes Toews, Kane, And Hossa the :cens0r: can score. But the flyers have way better defense than any opponent you faced. Pronger, Timmonen, just to name a few will turn out your lights.

OOOooh it's a good year. I'm feeling all orange inside. ;)
