All this media attention lately kinda makes me think that these are things being done by some people that support the ban. Any freaked out person would just run the thing over! I was at a friends house last night and his chihuahua had me trapped at the front door. That thing was trying to eat my ankles!

BG I thought the exact same thing, how do we investigate something like that tho?

i like the unfoxed version were the expert said.....

"It's on the thin side," he said this morning, "but it's extremely friendly and a well-behaved snake."

The demeanor of the constrictor and its condition indicates it is a pet that escaped or was released, he said.

Yates said he took the snake to a party he attended Sunday night, and several people handled it and there were no problems.

"He's a very good snake," he said.
    so fox out right lied....hmmm

FOX is going to cover EVERY "snake in florida" story they can find and blow it as far out of proportion as they possibly can. obviously they are big supporters of the bill.

they said the wildlife expert said "she's lucky the snake didnt eat her"! it must not require much knowledge about wildlife to become a wildlife expert

I don't blame the woman for being terrified, I blame the news for hyping it up. They love to hype up snake stories. "She's lucky it didn't eat her", that is absolutely ridiculous, that snake would almost choke on a rabbit as thin as it was. Eating an adult human would be impossible. I would love for one of these to happen with five or six cops standing around a snake and have somebody just walk up and pick it up and walk off with no tools or anything. That would be hilarious.

I like how most of these accidents happen in Florida, too. It gives the rest of us Floridians that actually care to protect their beloved slithery friends a bad name. I'm utterly disgusted by this. Florida sucks anyway.. >:(

heckI wrestled moms cat out of my boa coils and she thicked than that poor guy was.(I hope the cat now will
1 quite sleeping on top of my rodent tanks making it smell like snake food.
2 understand why I always toss and chase them out of the of the reptile room when they try to follow mom or me in there.
3 mom as well why I don't want the cats on this side of the trailer when I got the snake cage open in the room as I playing with them. (have had the boa crawl out of her cage and get in my lap 3 different times over the years I had her since her rescue back in early 2002-2003. I was always gettign yelled at by mom for punting ( at the cats when they came in the room now she understands why. I also know the cats like to smack at the snake thogugh the glass cause they don't know what it is.

Wow. I love how people like us, that are into herps almost NEVER have snake-related incidents. But on the other side of the spectrum, all those people who are terrified find a beautiful burm chillin outside their car.

I watched this and laughed at the police. I have a 12' burmese python named Littlefoot. I don't have to even pick him up, he crawls out of his cage when I lift the lid. This would scare any non-snake lovin' person.
