Re: Lowest prices you've seen for these morphs?
To the OP:
If you want to know how much a certain morph costs, go to Kingsnake and check out the classifieds. That should answer all your questions.
Hope this helps!

Pastel-$60
Spider-$120
Cinnamon-$400 (am I the only one who feels like this morph actually rose in price?)
Piebald-$800
Albino-$350
Yellow Belly-$75
Lesser Platinum-$350
Mojave-$150 (male) $175 (female, minus shipping)

I think asking for prices are important, almost as much as educating oneself about quality. I've seen people make mistakes because they get so excited about something new that they forget to check pricing and then later realize they could have gotten something of the same quality for much less, and I'm guilty of it too (*cough* apple macbook *cough*)
There's no harm in looking for the best price vs. quality, as long as you know /what/ to look for.
Now, the choice to make is up to them.
---
I second that.
Kingsnake, faunaclassifieds, HERE, reptile expos--go to them and watch them for a good amount of time to get a feel of the range of prices per grade of morph.

Re: Lowest prices you've seen for these morphs?
I've been looking on Kingsnake.com and Fauna for the past week or so, I don't see why anyone would need to make a thread like this when there have been SO many others, and they always end up the same way.
Like Jaime said, if you want to know the price then just look at Craigslist, Kingsnake, Fauna, or even the classifieds here. Between those websites you will find the best ballpark prices for morphs. Now, if you're looking to get a cheap snake, you just have to wait for a while til someone decides to rehome their collection. This economy is bad, and rehoming is happening frequently. Just be prepared when buying a cheap snake! Cross your T's, and dot your I's.

why? because when ppl want to start jumping on ppl about prices and all the excuses ultimately it ends up the purchaser is only going to pay what they want to pay.
when it comes down to flaming actual ppl who are or could be potential customers it tends to push them away not bring them closer.

Re: Lowest prices you've seen for these morphs?
This is the stupidest thread ever
-
Re: Lowest prices you've seen for these morphs?
Um..
All I asked is the lowest prices you've seen for the morphs I listed, since I've noticed many morphs are dropping in price. I'm not really planning on buying the morphs I listed (besides 1), those are just the morphs that seemed to really go down in price, so I wanted to see how low in pricing you've seen them for.
Didn't really expect this thread to turn out the way it did, as I was reading the posts.:weirdface

Re: Lowest prices you've seen for these morphs?
Well, the point I made by mentioning the spider is that some of those really low-priced animals may not be exactly perfect. There might be a REASON that they're priced so low. They may not be representative of the market in general.
Bafflingly to me, people couldn't wait to get their hands on that slow-starter wobbly female spider. I got more inquiries on that snake than any of my other snakes. Grant you, she's probably going to be just fine, as she ate well once she started, but it's a bit surprising how people like to gamble when the price goes down.
I'm not sure you should use animals being sold low due to problems in your 'lowest price' evaluation.

I agree - I'm really just disputing the idea that a second generation animal is going to have a negative qualitative impact based on the fact the breeding was done by a smaller breeder.
Whether I purchase and breed the dam and sire from NERD or they breed them in-house has no effect whatsoever on the quality of the offspring. What I do as a breeder very well may, but that can go both ways, which is to say the small boutique breeder using NERD stock may produce higher quality animals.

Price does not quality make, nor does it preclude it.
I agree. Usually I'd say "you get what you pay for," but in some cases that's just not true. Case in point - I just bought a HOT 1.0 '09 Mojave, 1.0 '09 het Albino & 0.1 '08 het Albino, for the total price of around $465 with shipping... and these snakes are from a "BP breeder" you all know and love. ;) He gave me a discount for multiple snake purchase, another discount for being a BP.net member, and combined shipping since they came together. So yeah, price often dictates quality, but there are definitely exceptions to the rule.
P.S. When I start breeding, I will price mine at market value... but if they're taking a while to sell, I'd have no problem lowering prices to find them a home. I'm not doing this for profit, and would be willing to sacrifice a little money for a good buyer. :gj:

No kidding, those prices are HIGH! I can't believe a pastel goes for that much, when you can usually get them (females) for less than $200 here... I only paid $125 for my male, and that's considered a little steep.
Don't you get a lot of African imports in the UK? I actually think that would be cool, since I've been scouting for a "dinker project" since I got into BPs.

Re: Lowest prices you've seen for these morphs?
Has anyone done any research on this bill they want to pass to ban breeding and selling bp's ?? if the rumors are true (i'm from canada) then i think you guys should be spending your time and money on some petitions and rally's... not more snakes..
