True..But with aspiration to breed animals, it is key to learn how to sex properly. Knowing how to pop snakes is pretty important. I pop them as soon as they are out of the egg, after they shed and before I ship out. If I had to probe instead I would probably kill myself. :O

To each their own.
I'm a master at probing- my herp vet taught me & I'd help with her snakes & mine. Popping is something that has taken me longer to master although anything under 500g does seem pretty simple. I'd never probe a hatchling, after 100g or so, it's not tough at all if you know what you are doing.

Ok, I tried and still nothing. I'm going to have someone show me in person next week so hopefully I can get the hang of it.

It does take practice & over time the press n' roll will become easier. ;)

Well don't be too sad. I remember when I first tried popping.. I tried it on my female a few times just to see if she was sure to be a male then when I tried to pop her instead of penes coming out, I was peed on. It just shot out and I didn't even expect it. Kind of nasty too, it hit my neck and some of my hair. I took a nice shower that night though lol:8:
I was also peed on by my Corn snake when I tried to pop him.. and from my Kingsnake I used to have. Snakes seem to like to pee on me for some reason..

Haha..I'm a wuss. I don't mess with anything bigger than a Boa.
Re: Not what I was looking for, but ok
it doesn't seem possible to pop a burm to me, if it's not a hatchling. It just seems kinda dangerous to the snake to me?
I would want to learn how to pop/probe a snake eventually in my life. I just only have an 8 and a half foot burm and a 4' Bp. Kinda need a smaller snake to work with =).

Yeah it' harder to pop Retics too, but it can be done. I find they do better at probing.
