I was not talking about hook training. I don't hook train my snakes, but others do. I was talking about having 2 people when handling.
Re: Reticulated or Burmese
just a couple pics of my son and a retic that he raised , with my help of coarse and also pics of our albino burm just to show how gentle both can be with proper care. these pics will show the size difference between a retic and burm of equal length

Or people just dont report them as much as with burms. dealing with all the snakes burms, rocks, retics , bp's and so on the only two bites I have taken were from burms.
personal experience is the best way for one to figure which is best for them. so if you have the ability to help someone who has them try and get some experience and good luck and just remember , be prepaired for a work out as they grow.
Wouldn't that be personal error? Burms have been in the pet trade longer, Many, Many more irresponsible people have burms than retics and retics have had a bad rep until recently. I think that is why people let their guard down. If I go into my Burms enclosure I keep eyes on him at all times. Retic attacks will start to become more and more heard of I think.

thats right.
retics have been around longer than you think. that is why they have such a bad rap. when they started coming into the pet trade they started with WC retics and not very small ones either. and we all know an adult WC retic can have a very bad attitude towards handling. I know people that have been in the hobby for yrs and still think retics are nothing but living chainsaws. they will not listen to anything else about them. what they know is word 1 and thats that. I have been in many arguements with people here in the local herp society and have offered to bring my retics in to one of their meetings and they wont have anything to do with it.
also with the experiences I have had with retic owners , most of them seem to own more retics at a time than many burm owners keeping burms
