sorry i made you feel that way hun :sigh2: the way i look at it is having the mouse knocked out is probably less painful for him anyways. ive heard screaming from mice many times and thats more heartbreaking then a quick flick. it was his fate one way or another

LOL this reminds me of a story when i went to pick up some small mice

the last few times when i got the in the paper bag, they were calm and just cleaning themselves... but when i grabbed one of the stupid mice out of the bag, it ran all over my hand and tried to get away! i grab it and try to put it in the bag but it pokes its head through my hand and runs along my arm!! i was freaking out! i put it back in the bag and closed it around my hand, finally leaving the mouse in the bag

No you're not. I personally don't see the point of stunning a prey animal for a ball python. If you are feeding an appropriate sized meal, the snake should be able to handle it on it's own.

That being said, I've seen some pretty crazy hopper mice that are intimidating to the snake (and to me!) The mouse will wear itself out quickly enough and the snake will be able to catch it, but I'm always happy when the snakes are big enough to no longer need hoppers.

Nope, I see no reason to stun a mouse either. Snakes been catching and eating them successfully for thousands of years, and will continue for thousands of years. We keepers should act as responsible as possible, there are always those that want to stop our hobby, I don't see whacking feeders as a positive point.
