    I have read that granite is not necessarily genetic in all cases. However, in your case it does seem to be genetic. Maybe it is just really reduced, but it definantly seems that there is something there. I think you have a dinker project.

    Well, we're holding back the granite male with all of the markers--we've named him Ausangate, after the mountain god that was the father of all mountains in the Andes. Here's hoping he will be. :)

    If it's genetic granite, breeding him to a plain normal female should give us some granites. If it does, we know the lesser male carries the granite gene. :)
