I use the vision racks and i use the BAH1000 with the heat rope also from big apple. The thermostat turns off and on allot but the temps inside the tubs dont fluctuate more then a degree or 2. I have several of them and they work perfect. Im about to buy a couple more for a giant hatchling rack im building.

On a 5 tub rack, mine is taped (with aluminum tape) to the flexwatt on the 3rd (middle) tub slot.

I don't think it's a bad thermostat and it's not unreliable IMO. I have one, I haven't used it yet. I did have the older model. I've since upgraded to a herpstat for that snake.
You haven't used it yet, but you consider it reliable?

If you would read I stated that I had the older model of that. It is basically the same thing.

I Used the older (black) one for 2 years with my Burm. And I ordered the one in the link for my future boa. It has also been recommended by users on RTB.net, and there are a lot of very experienced people on that forum.

the black thing is the temp probe I place mine on the heat source and tape it down then I set my johnsons control to allow for about a 93 turn on and shuts off at about 106 I done the temp checks and it give the bps a minium warm spot of about 93. I am planning on taping it in the middle of the tubs ( to prevent the rubbing effec I am seeing) and cut a busted tub up enought to figure out a inside temp with inbedding in the plastic so I can get a more true reading all the time. wit hmy flexwatt glued to the wood it heats the wood up and reflects it around into he tubs..

I would say go with something better.. Just invest the extra money into a ranco, johnson, helix, or herpstat.. It will pay off in the long run... Also, your racks going to be 5' long? Not a good idea... That thing is going to sag soooo bad! With racks, its always better to go with tall and skinner than shorter and wider...

Thanks for the help and yea I'll rethink the rack thing. What do you use for a t-stat and also how do you make your banners/sigs?
