Re: Which pastel browns out alot?
Toby says thanks! I personally prefer yellow & blushing over orange... come to think of it, most pastels I see are more yellow in color. Btw, I got mine from a breeder here in Northern CA - he probably ships, so I can give you his number if you'd like. ;)

Like people have said, each individual is different, and orange/brown on a baby is something that will darken with age. Here are two more examples of changing in two very different pastels for you.
First is PB. I think he is a Grazi line but he might also be a Bell line. Since I got him he had browned out a bit along his spine, but at nearly 900 grams and almost three years old I think he is a fine looking pastel.
When I first got him at 150 grams. Notice you can already see he is a bit darker along his back.:

A few months ago, at around 800 grams or so:

Next is Banana, a pastel het for hypo who has what I would call a more 'blond' color. She is around 500 grams in this picture:

And here she is now, around 1200 grams. Notice her color is essentially the same:

Cool! PM me about that please!

Look for the most blushed out head that you can and the least amount of orange for a pastel that is likely to hold its color the best into adulthood.
Lemons do tend to go through an ugly duckling stage before they turn into swans though.
Here's my lemon pastel male at 3 years old.

And here's a progression of his babies:

See the super blushed head?

And for the most updated pictures of her, go to my website (linked in my signature) and go to The Nest and you can see what she looks like today.
What remains consistent in her pictures is the super duper blushed head. When I look at pastels at shows, I pass over the ones with heads with little to no blushing. The uber faded heads are the ones that will be show stoppers as adults.

Thanx for the pics.
The picture labeled as "Color starting to come in" do you know what age that is? Im curious as my pastel still very young. :)
Re: Which pastel browns out alot?
I didn't date it - but generally I started seeing them progressively getting more yellow after the 5th shed.
