It's fine as long as it's like the one made by t-rex. If you want to keep it on something similiar, try using coco husk. It comes in a brick like eco-earth and expands, and retains humidity well.

That's cedar and pine, cypress is fine.

I'm using the Cypress from T-Rex. Though, I've never had this problem, ever. My other BP was on Cypress before I bought him, and has been on Cypress until today when I switched him over to Aspen. Never had problems with him at all. With my female I've never had problems with Aspen, and I've used it for most of the time I've had her. A bit after I switched to Cypress, I was noticing this.
