I watched the clip. Of course, they only talk about the Burmese Pythons and how big they get. No mention about the snakes that don't get that big. If they do decide to use your egg cam you have to make sure they make it clear that those are ball pythons and not the Burmese Pythons that everyone is talking about right now. Someone watching who has no knowledge could say, "Oh my God, there's a guy actually breeding those things that are escaping and killing people!" They need to make it clear in their story that BPs don't get to the size that other pythons can get to, like the ones they showed in that video.

Yeah, that angered me too when I saw that. It's the media trying to put a scare into people just to make a story out of it.

12 deaths in 30 years? How many Burmese Pythons? Owning one sounds to be no more dangerous than walking across the street. When are they going to outlaw streets? Cars? Walking? It isn't even, statistically, newsworthy!

Gee whiz, the media portraying pythons as uncontrollable monsters, who would have ever guessed?! The media is about nothing but fear mongering and sensationalism. There is no journalistic integrity...

Big mistake allowing them to use your clip without 1st finding out how they were going to use it, or in what light the report was going to show pythons in.

That is apretty awful representation of the burmese python. They are not bloodthirsty killers and they did not establish a population from owners letting them loose.

Jeez way to scare people away from snakes :/

Exactly! there are around 30 people killed by dogs every year! is it illegal to have a dog?

Like Adam Wysocki said, 12 deaths (and not even most from the pet population) from the past 30 years show the seriousness that python keepers give to their hobby.

It was streaming video on Ustream. I believe they can use it without my permission.
They did not ask permission, cuz they don't need it. If they want to use it in a negative way, then I am sorry for that.
I am not sorry I broadcast the clutches hatching. I will do it again. I know a lot of people liked seeing it.
They are gonna do the story their way, like it or not. I'm sure there is plenty of video they could have used besides mine.:taz:

    Rant over:)
