I find bungee cords are pretty nice for bigger snakes. Plus, they're pretty hard to forget to put on.

Thank you! Those tutuorials are really helpful. Just a few quesitons:

Flamethrower: I saw you're only using one UTH, does that keep appropriate temps on the cool side? The only reason I keep asking is because I was told I may have to use two, but I always see keepers using one.. It just seems to me that it would naturally keep the other side a little cooler than the side it's heating.

Danounet: Where do you place your heat tape in your tubs? I was also wondering if heat tape would be worth it with only one snake?

Blackcrystal: I understand controlling the UTH with a thermostat. I was wondering about the ambient temperatures, as I've read that an UTH may not heat the rest of the enclosure enough, and would just effectively work on the bottom. That's more of what I was wondering.

Sorry for so many questions, there's SOOO much more to owning a ball python then I thought when I first joined, lol. Still want one though. :D

Here I was cleaning the tubs a bit, they pooped last nite, I took this pic for you. The heat tape (flexwatt) is the black zebra looking stripe under the tubs. You can see the probe under the aluminun tape about halfway through the heat tape.

The white box looking thing is the Ranco Thermostat.

If it is too cold where you live, you might need 2 UTH. The cold side UTH should be low enough to keep low 80s temps. The Cold side temps should not get under 75.

Thank you, I've been wanting to see how flex-watt would actually be set up. So, the flex-watt is attached to a surface and the tub just set over-top? Are your tubs elevated slightly over the heat-tape, or it it not necessary with flex-watt?

I only use one UTH/Flexwatt on one side due to i keep rooms heated is 79-92 all year so my cool side is room temp.

Thats correct and you dont need to elevate anything. The tubs are just sitting on top of the flexwatt. :gj:
