Re: Possible Thermostat Malfunction?
a 41 quart long tub from walmart only costs about $12 and quite a few people use them. They come with locking lids, so all you'll have to do is put some holes in the lid and you'll be fine. I would start off with only a few holes and see how your humidity is, if it is too high, you can put a couple more and just add holes until you're set and have it just right.
IMO the salesman was correct. Once you have a thermostat, uth and have your enclosure set up, everything regulates itself and you very rarely need to change things. My snake is so much easier to care for than my dog. Less to clean up after, no need to feed it every day. Don't have to take it on walks, brush it or tank to it in a high pitched squealing voice to get her all excited to go for a ride in the car. My snake doesn't need to be trained to poop or pee outside. Honestly, the hardest part of owning your snake is getting started. Once you're through this innitial learning curve, you'll be set and it'll be the easiest pet you've ever had... I guess maybe fish can be easier.
No one here will call you an idiot or make fun of you for asking a question. We're all here to help eachother out. This community is one of the best I have ever seen online and it is a pleasure to be a part of it. Everyone here will welcome you with open arms and help teach you anything you need to know about caring for your snake.
