Wipe off, and watch it. If it doesn't come back, you're in the clear.

If it does, apply some antifungal...

I try to err on the side of not putting things on eggs until absolutely necessary, so that would be what I would do.

Hey Bro. Candle the egg. If you see very thick red veins, you are fine. I have on several occasions (matter of fact just last week), where an egg started growing mold around day 48. When I cut the egg open, it appears that the baby actually died around day 36-40. Typically when this happens (i.e. the baby is already dead), the veins start to shrink, and they are usually white in color.

In other words, if the vein structure looks good, I would leave it alone. There again, if the vein structure looks bad, it may already be too late. Sometimes they aren't meant to be saved.

    Hope that helps,

Thanks Heather and Tim! As of right now I am leaving it alone. More updates when I cut! :)

What I've done is candle the egg as Tim mentioned, and if the baby is still alive and wigglin', then I get a QTip, wipe off mold, then get some chlorhexidine and dab it on the molded area. It keeps the mold at bay.
