    That's a bit far away from where the snake is IMO. I would switch them up again to get the most accurate readings and control.

    I see your point. Me, I'd imagine the best place for it is directly touching the glass base, beneath the newspaper and bark substrate, to get an accurate reading. But the Acu-Rite probe is on top of the bark, where BP lies, and based on that reading I've been adjusting the thermostat. Am going for 92-94 degrees.

    You can do whatever works best for you, but here is a breakdown of my layers:
    (from bottom up)
    UTH
    thermostat probe
    glass
    thermometer probe
    substrate
    snakey snake :P :snake:
