I had my male spider mistake my pinky finger for a rat pup and latched on and started constricting my hand:O

After I got over the fright I ran his head under warm water for about 30 seconds, he then got the message and let go.:gj:

Brown Listerine is used to clean out mouths when snakes get RIs, so it is perfectly safe and has lots of uses for reptiles! It cleans a snake that decided to make a mess of himself, and will also get a snake to unlatch (many have Listerine around for big snakes if something were to happen).

Running their heads under warm water has never failed to work for me, with balls or any other species. Make it warm enough that you can feel the warmth (warmer than skin temperature, in other words) but not hot; for some reason cold doesn't seem to work as well.

I myself have been victim to a snake latching on to me when feeding day has gone a little wrong for me.

They are not going to hold on forever, just wait until they let go. It shouldnt be more than 5-10 minutes. My girl (She was a 600-800 gram spider...no small hatchling) held on for about 4 minutes without finally realizing I wasnt the mouse I has just dropped into her cage.

The one time it's happened to me (so far), I ran her head under warm tap water. She let go in a few seconds.
