Well there is hardly any care info at all out there for this species. i have scoured the internet for hours looking for viable care information and I came up pretty short. I actually have only had this snake for a few weeks, I just bought him after a year of considering getting one. I picked the biggest, fattest one! I have gone more on my own instinct than from care info on the web with this guy. When I first put him in the 5 gallon tank, I had it filled to the top. After studying him for about a half hour I decided he was too uncomfortable stretching that high to get a breath, so I took a third of the water out and he's much happier. I added a ton of plant vines so that he feels nice and secure and I gave him a cave to hide in and he uses it all the time. He also wedges himself in between the filter and the glass and will sit there for hours with his nose out of the water, and I think this is how he sleeps! Keeping this snake is not easy and I consider myself very lucky to have gotten one that actually eats and is thriving on my first try. I had expected to fail miserably a few times before finding the right specimen. For me it has been a lot of reading what little there is on them online, and also a lot of trial and error. I have already learned how to trigger a feeding response by brushing his side with a fish juuuust right!
