When Follicles are small... theyre dense, and easy to feel. After ovulation ( When the eggs ACTUALLY get fertilized) They turn into eggs and are really hard to feel until the last few weeks before laying, but by then, you can practically see them too... LOL. ( i had a post on the site about this SAME subject/thought too, and both of my girls that i THOUGHT "Reabsorbed" didnt, and went to both lay perfectly healthy clutches ( of exactly as many follicles as i felt, before i couldnt feel them!) My last girl should go, and recently shed a few weeks ago, ive been on egg watch with her!!! Should be five eggs from her :D
Watch her body, and behaviors ( Laying coiled, and making a circular clear spot near the heat in the substrate) and if you want, pick her up and look at her lower half, if you see a little bit of a bulge ( and shes refusing food lately) you probably have a gravid girl that just isnt showing much yet. Youll start to see subtle changes in how her body looks, and how she behaves. :)
