So you would recommend popping it and removing the skin flap to be able to clean it?
My boyfriend just burned about 50% of one of his arms on new years 2009, fell into a pot of boiling water on a wood stove... Not fun. It blistered up really bad, and we had to deal with it for as long as they were there, so I learned a few things about burn blisters.
From what our doctors told us (which I still don't completely agree with) is that you don't want to remove the skin from the burn cuz it acts as a barrier, and will come off when it needs to. However, one of my friends got a burn on her chest (OUCH!) and she said they scrubbed all the skin off, and she has NO scars. My BF's dr's didn't scrub his dead skin off, and he's got REALLY bad scars. From experience, I think if you don't want a scar (Do snakes even scar?), scrub that skin off. But if you're concerned it might get infected, I would leave the skin on but make sure to clean the wound.
Edit: Now that I think about it, I'm sure any snake owner wouldn't mind a scar as long as the snake is healthy. And if you scrub the skin off and clean it that way, you don't have to deal with all the topical stuff that the Dr.s put on. (IE: the stuff that breaks apart the skin tissue to dissolve the blister... why not just scrub it off? /bonk) I'm sure without all the blister tissue it would be alot easier to clean in the first place... Gah, hindsight is always 20/20.
So yeah, just my .02 cents from experience ;)
