    Just to say a thermostat might be a larger initial investment but makes life so much easier in the long run.

    Don't put your hand in front of the snakes face...
    If you get bit, it doesn't hurt much. More of a suprise than anything. The scratches and clawings I've gotten from puppies and cats hurt more. And make sure you post pics of it...

    Thanks to everyone who has been helping me! I now have a UTH (repimed brand) and have gotten rid of the human heating pads. I have also added aspen bedding. :)
    The new basking temp. is 93F, and heat gradient ranges from 85F-75F. Thank you again!
