    Yea, I have one fully enclosed hide in my enclosure and one half log...Simon uses the half log just fine...but I did cover the entrance to it with foliage so he feels pretty secure and hidden in there.

    Half logs can be ok if they are small like that one, and there is foliage blocking at least one side of the log entrances.

    However, two hides should be provided or the snake will be sacrificing thermoregulation needs for hiding preferences, which can cause stress later on.

    Nice cage. I never use live plants for balls, but that can help humidity very nicely too.

    I use a half log and Mas loves it. I keep one side close to the glass and then stuff moist moss in that opening. She loves it.
