Let the snake settle in for a week, and just feed it in the tub its in.

    It will be fine.:)

Well congratulations on your new albino. I concur with the rest of the post. Let the snake settle in for a while. It is scared. Once it settles in it will be fine. Have you ever been bitten by a rat/mouse? Well being tagged by a ball hurts a LOT less than that, but it will draw blood. You can use use gloves if it makes you feel better.

I've been bit once by one of my smaller females. Doesn't hurt, but I concur with akaangela that rodent bites will occur more often and hurt more.

Your new girl was probably stressed due to being in shed and if her eyes were cloudy she had very limited vision so her instincts are to protect herself. Once she gets settled and sheds she will not only look like a brand new snake, but I can guarantee that she will act completely different as well.

Good luck and congrats on your new acquisition. :gj:

i agree with everyone else... wait a week before you try to feed her and personally i was in the same boat as you, a little scared at first so i went out and got some heavy duty gloves, used those for like 2 days and got over it lol i've only been bit once and it didn't hurt a bit. the gloves definatly helped my confidence though;)

being bit is just a part of owning snakes. goes hand in hand. sometimes its the snake being nervous... sometimes you smell like food. it happens /shrug. though i gotta say that i also got my first snake when i was still afraid of them now i have a zoo and recently acquired aquarium lol

Give it some time , most of all make sure you have a nice tight hide. Let it sit in its hide for awhile , no traffic, no disruptions. Always be confident but gentle when handling. He/she could strike yesterday and never strike again, so put that behind you. My first bp struck at me as well , once she got on track shes was the sweetest thing. And congrats on your new addition, enjoy it. Al's are awesome , mine is the sweetest out of all my bps.
