Gerbils have a real hierarchy system so it's best to do pairs vs. 1 male to multiple females. They will eventually mate but if they came from a group where the male was low rank and the female high rank, she may just snob it up for a bit. If he's mounting or you hear stomping signs are all good :o)
he was a low rank'd male ... and she was the only female around so yah ...
thanks though ... anybody know any neat sites i can look up more info on gerbils?

I am also interested in trying to breed gerbils if anyone has any info. Does the male eat the babies, do you have to separate? Thanks!
