Red ASF's

They are being fed the same as the adults and housed similarily. The larger ASF's in the weaned tank look normal, its just the smaller ones it seems.

How old were they when you weaned them? my early weaners get that way.

I've been weaning them at right around 16-18 days (I think don't really count days just go by size) I wean them about 2-3 days after they start opening there eyes.

I leave mine in til they around 25 days old

i wean 5-7 days after they all open their eyes, basicly when i feel their ready

I wean as soon as they can run around the tank... often times there are some in the litter that have their eyes open, and some that don't. They still all get pulled and I don't have any of the thinning hair.

That said, I used to have the thinning hair thing. Don't know exactly what caused it. At the time I was using pine pellets, had poor ventilation, and was feeding Mazuri 6f. Now I use the hog feed and kiln dried pine chips... and have miniature fans blowing into the grow out tubs 24/7.

I'll try tossing a fan on top, there probly isn't much cirulation in a 40 gallon w/ hides.

Well it I guess it was the lack of venitation, I pulled all the males out and put them into a tub and they look a lot better with only a day. Thanks for all the help guys.
