Re: Interesting Snakes - Platinum Citron
Well i cant really say i don't like the guy. He is a very nice dude, and i've done business with him before... But i will agree with other that he is very rough with the eggs.... I can understand cutting them open to see what you got, but why rip them out of the egg? Also, i still don't get how the heck he cuts that egg with the razor without cutting the snake, he doesn't take any precautions of pinching a little part of the egg to make sure the snake isn't there and cut it. He just goes right in and cuts! He should just wait a few more days until the snakes comes out on their own... He lacks something EXTREMELY Important in this hobby, and that is patience.

I totally agree. I know exactly jack squat about breeding and eggs but watching him stick that razor in there and cut it open like a UPS box made me tense each time. They didn't seem to eager to be coming outta those shells either.:(
Re: Interesting Snakes - Platinum Citron
The reason he cuts the eggs is because sometimes the egg tooth will fall off before they can puncture the shell thus the snake drowning. I would rather the snake live then drown in the egg. He is a bit rough with it though. From what I've heard from people around here is that he has alot of mite problems giving him the nickname "prehistoric pests."
Re: Interesting Snakes - Platinum Citron
Well if it works for him...
He did say at least some had pipped, so I can see cutting the eggs. If he doesn't cut any babies, then whatever, but I'd freak out cutting like that. But then, maybe he's cut so many eggs that he knows exactly how much pressure to put on it? Dunno.
Never been to the store, I've only seen their ads online, and everything seemed higher priced than the average. I'm glad he's made something new, and there's big fans of retics and the morphs of retics, so I certainly won't diss him for a clutch of morph retic eggs.
Re: Interesting Snakes - Platinum Citron
I am speaking from experience and no their animals are not all that healthy. Like I mentioned before most of the animals in the store are from outside sources and even those poor things are sickly. I just dont care for their husbandry skills. About a year or so ago I took my two leos to them because I needed room for some incoming snakes. Well long story short a few months later I went back and spoke with them and found out that they had both died. Now this seems strange when two perfectly healthy animals just up and die a few months later. Then theres my first pastel which was sold to me with scale rot. Its my fault for not noticing upon purchasing him but when I called them they knew all about it and still had no problem selling me a sick animal. I may stop in a buy some snake bags or take a look around but I Will never buy from them again. Their sister store in montclair (i think) is much better. They are alot cleaner and their animals look much healthier.

That video is SO edited. All the snakes go from normal looking, his hands also, to insane purple, along with his hands.
