    Try covering 3/4 of the sides with black paper and removing the heat lamp. You can put a low wattage bulb in there for viewing but heat lamps suck out humidity terribly.

    Do you have more than one hide?

    That cage looks like a cage that would fit an adult nicely, not a yearling.
    Some of my cages are half that size with yearlings in them, and they're very happy with that.

    My yearling is pretty big tho..he`s surpassed 3 ft and was eating small rats (my mom still doesn`t think they`re small LOL)...I need the heat lamp to reach the basking spot temps of 91...the UTH drops it to about 82-87 by its self....

    and i have 3 hides...a black plastic hide..an icrecream tub full of coco-fibre for his moist hide..and a half log on his cold side...its kinda hard to see but its beside his water dish

    Im also using the cypress mulch so the humidty usually stays around the 60% range.
