I would rather get bit by my 2000+ gram female Ball Python multiple times then take a bite from him again. It bled worse then any other bite and I have been bitten by quit a few things. It hurt for a few hours after but you would think I would have learned my lesson. I got bit again adjusting the misting nozzle. It's crazy this is Sue's project and I am the one going into the tank to fix the environment and getting bit. I guess she is the smart one...LOL

Thank You! The set up was a pain in the butt, trying to get everything to stay because of the humidity. We finally figured it out. Everyone that comes over loves it. Now we have a few more to setup.

LMAO!! Yep she's the smart one for letting you do the work. Reason I asked about the bite is because I know the size of the teeth on them, and the amount if i'm not mistaken because they have to hold their prey from falling on the ground unlike other snakes who can just go down and get it, I don't believe a GTP will.

I believe you are correct. I have never read or seen anything that stated different. I am glad we where able to talk her out of getting Emeralds. We could not see her having to move and feed those. Don't get me wrong they are gorgeous animals but they are known to be more aggressive then GTP and get bigger. I would rather it be me then her anyway.

Emeralds have way bigger teeth than chondros. Emeralds tend to eat birds more often and they need a good bite to hold it. Green trees tend to go to the lowest branch on a tree and wait out food. If nothing comes they move a few trees over and try that. They pretty much pick a tree and stick pretty close to it their entire life in the wild. I've never seen a grounded chondro eat, but I'm sure one in nature would with the amount of food they see. Many people believe a quality CBB emerald is much more holdable that a quality cbb green tree. I do not keep emeralds, but know many people who adore theirs.
Aaron from Iherp said it best. "green tree teeth are way over rated and way under rated at the same time." Just for the record, many snakes of the same size hurt much worse....Carpets, white lips, and scrub.....
All info on the natural green tree info above comes from my vague recollection of "The More Complete Chondro" by GM. Someone chime in if I'm mistaken.

Very pretty snake.
I'd love to have a GTP but I'm scared of their bites. I've witnessed someone getting bitten by an adult and it was not a pretty sight.
BTW... The leaves on that big plant shes over in the second picture look a lot like pot leaves.....LOL.

I am sure with time and really getting to now the temperament of the animal they are all hand able. It just takes a lot of time. I have been bit by an Asia Water Monitor, an adult male Veiled Chameleon (hurts more then you would think), 10' Red Tail Boa, juvenile Caiman and others so one could say I can distinguise a painful bite from a that little stinker just bit me. I have never owned a Carpet, White Lipped or a Scrub so I could not say. I do know someone that was bitten by a Carpet and it did not stop bleeding for around an hour because of the anti-coagulants in the saliva. Lets just face it GETTING BIT SUCKS! Unfortunately it is something that is going to happen from time to time and one thing to remember no matter how much one would like to pull back after being bit make sure the animal has let go. If they have not let go and you do jerk your arm back which is a natural reaction you couls seriously injure the animal.

They are a very rewarding species. If you do get one do your research and by from a VERY REPUTABLE BREEDER. You will pay more but you know the animal is CBB and healthy. Unfortunately getting bit is all part of the game.
We noticed that about the plant after we put it in and that is his favorite spot to hang out.
