I was referring to the box. My statement still stands.

Just keep the box slightly farther away from the water and see what happens.

How would you recommend me keeping the box further away from the water? There is 4 inches of water, not touching it, but directly below it. I'd have to take water OUT of the tank. Or put some try vermiculite in the egg box.

- Also, I was told to put paper towels in the egg box off to the side, to soak up some of the humidity, then on here I was told to put a paper towel over the actual clutch. - Which should I perform?

Take a bit of water out. See what happens.

I have never used your technique, so you'd have to experiment a bit and report back.

You can use the papertowel as a wick, but that would only work if you had condensation over the entire top of the tub. If you do, then do it.

If you don't, put the papertowel over the egg in question and replace it often.

Unpropped the eggs, put a paper towel in the box, vented the lid a tiny amount. Humidity is good, temperature is stable at 90, (finally).

One question though, the egg being dripped on over night, that didn't hurt it, did it? :(

I've successfully hatched eggs using a similar incubator. I assume you have a lid on the incubation container, right? Using the aquarium method, you won't really be able to reduce the humidity much by draining out water. You might try using something like a folded piece of cardboard to create a sort of shelter for the eggs that the water would run down. I used an incubation container with a piece of glass over the top way back when I did this and didn't have problems with the water dripping on the eggs. Good luck!

You should have done like myself and make a bator out of an ice chest. I can send you pics if you want or I will post some later.

My first clutch of eggs. I incubated them. Using a 10Gal tank,some water and an underwater heater. I had one egg go bad in the first week. The other 3 or 4 hatched just fine. It did take a few days to get the tank dialed in. So they will work fine, but you have to keep a close eye on them. If the room temp goes up or down. It will mess with the incubator temps pretty good.

Did you put a piece of glass over the actual TANK, with a piece of cardboard substituted as the lid for the box that the eggs are contained in? - Because that sounds like a good idea.

Nope. As long as it isn't constant, it should be fine.
