I've had two baby Balls for about two weeks now and went through tons of questions and trials, both before and since bringing them home. I finally decided to go without when two local breeders, one who showed me his set-up, convinced me that a UTH wasn't necessary. I'm certainly not suggesting that a UTH is wrong because numerous people on this site use them successfully. I just know that since removing UTH's my snakes have been great! I do have a 100w IR bulb over the warm side and I monitor the temp and humidity several times a day.
