Re: Question for Male Cat Owners...
It is worth noting though that male cats that are neutered later in life can often keep up the spraying habit. I think my vet said it's something like 15 or 20% of them never stop it completely.

Just an update for everyone... We brought him HOME! :D His name at the Humane Society was Tarzan, and we decided to keep it that way :) He's a very good boy and very laid back - which suits our household perfectly! Here are some pic's of him from the shelter - I'll snap some of him once he settles in a bit. Just want to say thanks to everyone for their help again, this community rocks :gj:

Re: Question for Male Cat Owners...
Awww...he's gorgeous! Congrats on adopting a kitty! I know you have your answer on the urine smell, but wanted to comment that my two boy cats' (I only have the two) urine smells no different then when I had a female cat. The "spray" is what smells, but being neutered will drastically reduce (if not totally eliminate) the possibility of spraying. My boys were both neutered young (2 months & 4 months) and neither ever got into spraying.
Re: Question for Male Cat Owners...
What a sweet face!! I'm in love with him!
Congrats! Hope all goes well. :)
(The male cat I currently own lives outside, so it's kind of hard to tell. But I have previously owned other males and we didn't have a problem with them. They were all neutered.)
Re: Question for Male Cat Owners...
Tarzan is very cute! And as far as your question...I grew up with three female cats (all of whom died of old age while I was in college) and now have three male cats. The only difference I've noticed is that they have much stinkier poop. My conclusion: boys are stinky.:weirdface
But no, I haven't noticed a difference as far as urine. One of the male cats was neutered a little later in life, and even he never sprays anything.
