    There was a great article in Reptiles Magazine on scale rot a few months ago... the April issue, maybe?

    If I were you, I'd get rid of the coconut fiber altogether. It is vital to keep the scales as clean as possible until they heal.

    in my experience right befor a ball goes into shed is the most likely time they get these small cases of scale rot.i am willing to bet your snakes belly is pink or will be very very shortly.

    if i am right on the shed its nothing to worry about,clears up nicely!

    ps.is your bp due for a shed?
