Its just what they seem to do.. I think it has something to do with the way their body uses the energy at that weight.. almost like they go through a metabolism change that causes them to plateau off then to come back with a vengance

    Mitch,
I was kidding. I haven't stopped buying them yet either.

As Ed said, sometimes they are on their own schedule. I have a 5 year old Het Pied female (raised her from a wee baby), and she just came out of her first POS about a week ago. She has been a finicky eater, and recently (about 12 months ago) decided ASF's were her thing. She went from about 1300 grams to just over 2000 grams in about 8 months. Hopefully we can hatch our first Pied after working on the project for 5 years. Stories like the one I just told are what make me laugh inside when someone buys a baby pair of snakes, and thinks they will hatch ____ in 2 years. Sometimes it works that way, but sometimes they stick it to you. Perserverance and Patience are the two most valuable traits to have when working with this species. If you don't have it when you start, you will surely obtain them on the way.

Yea, patience in the name of the game... Patience to breed, and financial patience to be able to purchase new snakes lol...
