It may be a good idea to stop handling him too for now...at least until you get him feeding a few weeks in a row.

    Just a thought ;)

that wouldn't be a problem...but would you consider taking him out to put him in the other tank to feed handling him?

I've got several adult males that will easily go off feed for 3 months or so. I think your snake is just taking a long time to adjust to its new home. If he looks healthy he probably is. It sounds like you've provided the right enclosure. You can definately up the humidity to help with the shed.
Looking in its mouth is a good idea and won't hurt the snake. If something is wrong there, it is usually obvious. If anything bad happens: bad stools, any sign of health problem, etc.---go to the vet!
I actually have a male fire adult that I purchased a couple of months ago and he hasn't eaten yet. He has good body weight and looks good. I'm in the same boat as you with this guy. I'm trying f/t as well as live mice and rats.
Let everyone know when and what your snake finally eats. Good Luck, Jason

Just feed him in his regular enclosure, no need to move him around.
