You did the right thing. I know it's hard to lose a friend, but these animals need proper care. They are innocents and shouldn't go to someone who would/could abuse them.

You did a good thing. He will probably thank you someday for it. Some people just need to grow up a little, and if he doesn't, it's his loss. In the long run, I'm sure your snake thanks you for it. Sometimes good deeds aren't always the easy choice.

I think you handled the situation very tactfully and you did the right thing here. You cant help how he would react to your decision, Thats on him. Sometimes in life friends come and go but there are a few that you could put your life in their hands and not think twice about it, That is a true friend.

I appreciate the support guys and gals. Time will tell if things will smooth over between us, but if it doesn't, it's not my loss, it's his. I'm not trying to sound conceited, but for God's sake, if he cares as much for these animals as I do, then he'd at least make an effort to try to give the proper care to the one snake he does have left. I know for a fact his surviving python has a R/I that is getting worse by the day. When I went to his house last week, you could hear his snake wheezing with every breath it took and you could tell he was laboring just to breathe. It's no wonder the poor thing hasn't eaten in 4 months. I even offered to take his snake to my vet and to pay the bill for it but he refused and told me the snake goes through this every year and it's "normal" for him. Then the guy wonders why he strikes at him every time he sticks his hand in his cage.
I will take the advice and make sure everything is locked, including the windows and door to my reptile room. After his outburst today, I don't put anything past him.
