I got her from this place called wildside. They specialize in exotics, mainly snakes and lizards/monitors. Im about to take some more pictures of her, anything specific that would help with an ID?

First I was thinking Rosie, but when I keep looking at the pics, it seems it has some purple hues?? Can't tell if its a reflection from the flash/camera or what?

Guess that didn't help a whole lot, huh?

It looks similar to this one http://www.birdspiders.com/gallery/p.php/852 but I can't see any red hairs on that one (not to say they are not there though). The pics you posted are good IMO I just stink at making ID's but I like to try :D The Phormictopus gave us somewhere to start :gj:

I see the red hairs ;) Not a lot but they are there.

What is the common name for that spider? Did I miss it? Sometimes I'm just not very observant.

I believe that is a Phormictopus cancerides, common name, Haitain brown. The purple bits on the carapace and the red leg hairs are dead give aways.
You said its docile? Be careful, most of these are not. I did have a very gentle male though.

No she isnt docile, i said she was a sweetheart cause i think anything as beautiful as she is should be called a sweetheart lol. She hasnt bit me or flicked hairs at me though maybe thats cause she was in her molting process.

Some of those looked really close. So far everything is pointing to Haitian Brown.

I just got my two Haitians out and compared them to the picture you posted...they look very similar, except mine don't have much/any of that purple iridescence. However, mine are both juveniles (2-3") so they may just have not developed it yet, I know that I've seen pictures of adults that have the purple. I vote Haitian Brown, P. cancerides!
