I'm so sorry for your loss. I had followed your adventures with Grace for a long time. I'll keep you both in my thoughts and prayers. :tears:

I just called UF for necropsy information.
First, freezing the body(as we all know) destroys a lot of the things they would be looking at, so they didn't think they would be able to tell much.
Second, the necropsy costs START at $450 and go up to $600 or more.
So... the very kind vet said I might check the state diagnostics lab, and gave me their number.
They said similar things about the freezing, and that they doubted that they would come up with much. But if I wanted to take the body down, it was only $50 base fee, plus more for certain tests.
So that's a consideration. I can either drive the body down, or ship him overnight.
I might ship him, but I have to check the cost through SHIPYOURREPTILES, to see. I might be the first person to ship a lizard with frozen packs. Sigh.
If not shipping, then I'd have to wait until next monday, since I can't drive down today, and I have work all week.
Thanks for all the support. I have issues trying to talk about him, on the phone I kept choking up. It's like I don't want to let his body go either. Stupid yes.

After checking the price(have to love ShipYourReptiles), I can ship the body, so I called the place again, and talked to one of the doctors. He doesn't think he'd be able to tell me anything, since the body was frozen. So I have to decide whether to bother sending the body down, when their TOS says they can just decide to incenerate the body without doing anything at all other than saying "the body was frozen, sorry".
    I'm thinking about it now.

I'm sorry :tears: Life sucks when it has to end so quickly, but it's not about the first breath or the last, it's all the ones in between.

I'm very sorry for your loss. An argentine tegu is one of the animals I have wanted for a long time now but have not had the space for and thus I have waited... But I know they can be simply amazing pets and I can only imagine what you're going through. If you don't find any answers I hope you can at least find some peace. It sounds like you've been having a rough time lately.
