If I were to get a blood python (:D Hopes are high!), which are notorious for their great feeding responses and occasional aggression, I would definitely feed it outside of its cage. However, BPs are, for the most part, hesitant feeders, and feeding outside of the cage can add stress to an already stressful situation.

Feeding an aggressive snake OUTSIDE of its enclosure makes no sense. A great feeding response + trying to move the animal out of and then back into its enclosure = a recipe for getting tagged in a feeding strike.

Plus, just because an animal is not a hesitant or shy feeder does not mean it won't get stressed when you handle it.
