    Every single one of the 75 snakes I own eat in their enclosures from my tongs. This has worked well for me since realizing a few years ago how pointless and stressful it was to move a snake before feeding. None of my snakes attempt to bite me when I am messing in their cage, mainly because I don't waver my hand in front of their face like I would a mouse. when it's time for me to do something in a cage other than feeding, I immediately reach in and touch the snake, pick it up a little and set it back down. They know once they have been touched that food is not involved.
