Re: This is exactly what I am talking about!
I work 2 full time jobs and am in school full time as well, so i do not have much free time on my hands at all especially with reports and homework.
Money is very tight right now, as my partner is currently unemployed after being laid off. So I am handling all our bills to make sure I have a roof over my head, food to eat, water, heat, electricity, phone, a car to get back and forth to work with, and making sure my animals stay well cared for. I am not be able to afford the paper, envelopes, stamps, and ink to be able to print out and mail out all those letters as pictured above
But what I have done besides the emails on nohr669.com is sent emails to all local news stations multiple times. Sent an email to local news papers also. I have also asked my friend who has his own talk show on the radio to help get this word out as well. I have also called all pet stores in our region and spoke to managers and passed the word and the website. That is about all I am able to contribute at this time. I wish i had more time and money to beable to contribute more but i am stretched thin as it is.
Re: This is exactly what I am talking about!
this would be a great time to have a reptile show in orlando,,but,,as my luck proves,,is none..will be possibly,,or should say, more then likely talking about this on a nationwide radio show in the morning,,that will be fun
Re: This is exactly what I am talking about!
Wow that is alot of letters. :D
I posted flyers all around town and at the local pet stores. I've told as many people as I could.
Has anyone tried contact the the woman from Guam who introduced the bill? I emailed her a piece of mind the other day. :snake:
Re: This is exactly what I am talking about!
I sent a letter to my Congressman, my Senator, and my state Governor and basically asked them if they had set aside some of that federal "bailout" money to help all the people who would be negatively impacted if this bill passes.
I sent a letter to the Humane Society and told them that after finding out that they were supporting a bill to take away my pets, that I could no longer support them, and then I cancelled my monthly donation to them.
I also sent an email to one of the DJ's at a local radio station who loves to address things like this on air in the evening. He talked about it last Thursday. I hope in some small way it helps the big picture...
I do have to give credit to the pet shops in my area who are passing petitions. One shop that I stopped in had signs posted in the fish, bird, reptile and rodent sections that said, " Attention Valued Customer: Your right to purchase and enjoy these beautiful animals is in jeopardy by your elected officials. Please see sales staff for details... Thanks"
