If you guys have an open line of communication you should be ok.
If he/she is a "runner" not answering emails, phone calls and so forth then I would worry.

But it sounds like you should be ok..

However, in your worst case scenario I do not think you can get your money back without you being the one authorized to withdraw from his/her bank account. He/she will have to send it to you willingly. This is one reason why I like to pay by credit card/Paypal/check/cashiers check. Any of those mentioned you can stop payment or do a "chargeback" to get your funds back or stopped.

People's Court! No, totally joking, I'm sorry. That would be horrible... It is the worst feeling when someone has your money and you're waiting for them to deliver their end of the bargain. Ditto everyone else - keep an open line of professional communication and if he is an honest businessman and cares about his name he should try to work with you. If he's an established enterprise and you said you felt comfortable buying from him, then he more than likely isn't the type to just take your money and give you the run-around. But you know better than anyone since you have dealt with him personally before. Just sounds like he is a bit unorganized at the moment. Hope everything works out and you get a beautiful morph, keep us posted :)

Another possibility . . . many breeders will delay shipping until the check has cleared . . . not just received, but deposited and his bank said it cleared. Too many bad checks floating out there due to our economy . . . he might have been burned in the past. He should have told you if he had a check waiting period though.

Since you've had good business transactions with him before, it should probably end well. Let us know and post pics when you get your snake.

Well the problem with this statement is I direct deposited it into his account because we both bank with Bank of America which is instant. But onto other events. Me and my wife were on our way to go pic her up yesterday afternoon after a few text msgs back and forth (he had bad reception). Once he found out I was on my way he called and said he wouldnt have access to the snake as he had alot of business to tend to today but he would ship it out today Tues for a Weds delivery(9 days after saying he got my CASH) I said ok well today at 737 PM i got a text, no phone call, that he would send Weds for Thurs delivery. Thinking about making that trip anyways

Have you checked out this person's reputation on the BOI?

If they have a really good rep, I would not be concerned. Who knows what is holding things up, it could be a family emergency, or that they are focusing on fighting HR 669, or any number of things. Or maybe the person is just really not organized. But if they have a good rep, I'd feel safe that you'll get your snake, even if not in as timely a manner as you would have preferred.

If their rep is not as good, then I'd be concerned. I don't know what you could do, though, if they are really trying to scam you. They already have your money.

Either way, if you feel like making the drive, I would do so. An honest breeder should be understanding that there have been delays and you want the snake already. If it is a scam, well, I don't think driving there is going to help, but at least you won't be kept wondering for so long.

    Hope it works out.

Dang, it's been one of those weeks where glowering at someone would have made me feel better.

    Shucks even.

While "things happen" occassionally, it is still no excuse for someone not communicating HONESTLY what issues might have cropped up that are prohibiting this vendor from fulfilling his obligations.
Something people need to understand when they begin operating like this is the fact that customers are putting ALOT of trust in you to deliver on your word. If a vendor promises a certain delivery date, then it is expected that, as long as the seller has paid and kept his end of the deal that the seller will do the same. If circumstances come up that change the original outcome of the deal, it is up to the seller to ensure his customer knows of the delay and EXACTLY why there is a delay.
I have had vendors tell me that it is "personal" and none of my business when I inquire as to why I haven't received what I ordered. Well, I hate to break the news to you, but when you take on the responsibility of selling, especially via the internet, your personal business DOES become your customer's business, especially when you're not fulfilling your end of the obligation.
Now, from the sounds of it, this person sent a sizeable amount of money to this vendor and has been getting jerked around when he has tried to find out exactly what is going on. I don't blame him for becoming suspicious and upset and he has every right to begin to question what's really going on here. Excuses only go so far, especially when someone already has your hard earned money. It's time for this vendor to deliver on his goods and stop delivering on excuses. I also think that, should this transaction n ot have a good outcome that this vendor's name and company be made public so others here can avoid similar outcomes. We all work hard for our money and I don't know of anyone who is in a position to just give their money away, especially in today's economy.
I know it sounds like I'm being hard on this vendor, but that's because I've dealt with "reputable companies" before that jerked me around and didn't deliver on their promises. It only takes getting burned once to become suspicious and question motives if things don't go smoothly.
