    Hi,

    That is one of the ones I have seen recommended yes.

    The question is how stable are your room temps? Because if that changes then you will need to adjust the dimmer switch - and that really gets to be annoying.

    my house is usally 68-70 or somwtimes 71-72 in cold days

    That's the exact Dimmer switch I have, and it works good. I have 4 of them, Moonlight is on 2, and the Heating lamp is on 2. One a piece though. I have the moonlight to view my snakes at night.

    With a ten gallon tank an overhead light heat source is gonna suck out the humidity way to fast. A belly heat pad should not burn the animal if used correctly. The best way to prevent this would be to purchase a temperature control device such as a helix etc....without it the pad will go full bore and vary depending on room temp etc etc.

    Also investing in a infrared temp gun is a wise idea. This is an easy way to accurately measure what the temp on the substrate actually is for the bp.
