YOu could try to go herping or tarantula/scorpion hunting in the early daylight hours.
I did that in AZ with a fellow who I knows has an online shop.
Try to get a hold of a LV based herp group, or T group. I can send you some links of folks I know live in the area and go herping all the time.
    Just a thought.

Hey the Shark Reef over at Mandalay has a komodo dragon right now. It's a pretty rare thing; there aren't very many of them in captivity. Just don't try and pet it. :D I tried to go see it Saturday, but fifty feet from the door, I got called into work for an emergency.

If you want to go out this friday to something a little different, there's something called First Friday downtown. I haven't been out there yet, but it's a music/art/food sort of thing, really cheap to get in, and they have live music and such. Here's a link:

Let's see...oh, and if you haven't been to Marrakesh, you really have to go. It's a tiny, family-owned Moroccan restaurant a little off the Strip. It's a set price per person for a 7-course meal that is absolutely to die for. I'm a wimp when it comes to ethnic food (grew up on steak and potatoes), but I loved every single course. And, to top it all off, they have belly dancers that dance around all the tables. Just a really fun, relaxed atmosphere. I recommend making reservations if you're going on the weekend, though; they don't have many tables. Link: http://www.marrakechvegas.com/

If you're looking for something low-key and peaceful, there's always the Springs Preserve. If you haven't been out there, it's a really cool project, and if you're lucky, you might see a gila monster. Link: http://www.springspreserve.org/html/

Ok, that's all I've got for now. Have fun! If you see the komodo dragon, post pictures so I can be completely jealous. :P
