I would sugggest purchasing a herpstat thermostat for the UTH so you can set the temp you want the heat to be at and not allow it to go over or under.

Ok now I have removed some of the aspen. I now have just a thin layer covering the bottom. I also turned down the thermostat down to 97. Now the glass temp ranges. On the center of the pad on the glass it reads 95. On the outside of the heat pad is now showing 88 90 on the glass. I am now holding the proper ambient temps and the humidity will not drop below 60%. So do you think everything will be right for my new pet?

    Hi,

The temps sound ok as does the humidity.:gj:

I'm still a bit worried about the tape inside the enclosure - but that's one of my personal bugbears.

The metal tape I have under the screen is good stuff. It will stick to anything, and if you want to take it off, goodluck. Cause this stuff is sticky. It is state appoved metal tape. This is the stuff they use for HVAC. Good for temps -30 to 250. plus its like $15 a roll, ouch:O. If I want to get it off the outside of the glass, ill have to use a razor blade.

    Hi,

Yep I know the type of tape you mean - I use it to hold down the fexwatt etc.

I was more wondering how the tape held to a screen which is, lets face it, mostly hole. And if it is that hard to get off glass imagine trying to get it off a snake. :(

I will always prepare the option with the least chance of going wrong - no matter how small the risk with the others. Personal choice I guess.

Well I canned the the screen top, humidity didn't hold for very long. I now have a plexiglass cover with a 9" hole in the center with a screen(plexiglass is perfect). I also made the homade humidifier. I also raised the the lamp up as high as it would go. I feel alot better about her being in there now. Feeding day is comin up thursday, so I hope everything goes good. Here are some pics of her http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=89090. Thanks for the help.
