I found that they were much more eager to feed after the sun goes down, so I only feed at night.

Always at night. I would rather feed them during the day when it's more convenient for me... but it's not about me.

We feed the snakes at the store during the daytime but we shut off the lights until they're done eating.

More like early evening for us... Mikey eats at the same time we do. I prep human and herp dinner at the same time, he gets all excited to eat comes out of the hide, mouse hot tube and tongs and gone. Then we eat, as he swallows...

I almost always feed mine in the late afternoon/evening, although there have been times I've had to feed a little earlier. I try to keep it relatively consistent though. My corn definitely doesn't seem to have a preference as long as there's a mouse in front of her, but my ball seemed more skittish when the room was bright. I always try to feed her later in the day or in a darkened room. I'm sure it's all what they're used to, as well as how hungry they are and maybe even the varying "shyness" levels of different snakes :P
