I've seen a video on Youtube on this. My question is: In your experience or knowledge, does it matter if the water in the cooler is sealed or unsealed to create humidity. The reason being is that the guy on Youtube used metal culinary cooking pans unsealed.

your humidity is controlled by your sealed box your eggs are in not the incubator, also the water bottle are to keep the warm as a type of insulation when the cooler is opened so it gets back to the right temps fast.I put up a new youtube vid on it check the link in my signiture.

I've filled a ziplock baggy with water, and held a lighter under it for several minutes, it wont melt, because the water keeps it cool.

I made one.. it worked great but it wasn't as clean as yours.

    - I am assuming the thermostat should keep the heat tape cool enough to prevent from melting the bottles of water.

water bottles, containing water are to just maintain the warmth, have you ever noticed after you make a hot coffee, how long it stays warm

if you just warm the air in the incubator, whenever you open it, you let out all the warmth and then it takes awhile for it to warm back up. With the water bottles, you can open the incubator take a peak and close it back up and the warm water bottles will get your incubator back to that warm temp. fast.

To add or interpret.. since others keep asking..
In other words, it stabilizes the temps so there is less fluctuating. hehe
