Re: Converted...
BTW...I voted for "I only have BPs, but am considering getting a corn" because it was the most logical choice, but I actually have a BCI as well. They too are very different than BPs. I think all species have something special to offer a true snake enthusiast.

Re: Converted...
my first snake was a corn, had it for 2 weeks and it died, stupid petco had a bad batch and they all died, so i got another one free from them, and they assured me it was from a different grp of corns and that died i brougth ti back and they said that it was because of the breeder because they had gotten 4 others back aswell and they stopped dealing with them. so then i got a BP :-p and the BP was my gateway drug (lol) then got 2 iguanas, 2 beardies and bred the beardies after a while and then leo's and bred leo's after a while aswell. and now i have my eyes on one of jimisnakes RTB's ! :) i cant wait till the next show!

Re: Converted...
I started with a Corn. And when we got her it got me interested int he genetics, because we got it from a local pet store that deals with mostly fish and reptiles, and they also breed BP's and Corn's in house. The Corn we bought had her genetic background on her tag that came with her. She is Amelanistic Motley Het. Butter and 50% Het Anerythristic.
We are actually selling her this evening to make room for our newest acquisition... 1.1 Het VPI Axanthics from Adam at 8BallPythons!

Re: Converted...
Before getting our first BP, I had considered Corns. They are small (thin), come in cool colors and easy to care for. But went with the BPs because they are so freaking cool!!! The have personalities, don't just slither away and are beautiful. I love the distinct head, thin neck, fat body and skinny tail. And let’s not forget the awesome racing stripe on their face. Of course all the really cool colors/patterns I want are on my "some day" list.

I like to look at colorful corns and even more so milks and believe deep down inside that I eventually will be unable to resist.

Re: Converted...
my first snake was a ball, still have him, he's pretty big around 1400 grams i love him but he didnt really satisfy my handling needs, he just sits on me when out or hes in his hide when in his cage, so i got a diamond carpet python, what a handful!! lol, he's just now starting to settle down after 8 months lol, instead of striking every second now its once or twice a session, i also own a nic boa whos a sweetheart, never struck, bit, he has hissed but that was cause i was picking a piece of shed off his nose :)
