Give Rich at RBI a call. See if he has a Canadian distributor yet, or if he can work some other kind of magic.
Hey Slim, you think I can get away with just one heat source? I know I sound like a total over kill because Taiwan is a tropical island. The annual temperature in Taipei where I'll be living, is around the low 70s, but in the winter it will drop slightly below 70. In the summer it will get around the high 80s, so the air con will be on a lot of the time and set at low 70s. So I guess I'm most worried about the winter months.
Do you think with one heat source in the tank or cage, the ambient and cool end temperatures will be good enough? like around low 80s?
I am actually thinking about getting the Reptiles Basics 2x3 and dividing it while the snake is little and moving the divider back as it grows, which I will also get the built-in heat tape with a helix thermostat. This I think is a pretty sweet setup. Oh it also has the option of a built-in florescent light, I know it is unnecessary for Ball Pythons and will only be of viewing pleasure, but can that be harmful to the snake?
Sorry for the array of questions, thanks for all your patience and inputs!
Re: Mini Cage from Reptile Basics
Not to hiijack the thread, but I'm fighting back and forth on how I should do my set-up.
My house can get as cool as 68 degrees during the winter months so I need heat on steroids for those months.
Scenario 1:
Mini Cage w/supplemental back heat - Leopard gecko
3x2 w/80watt RHP - 1200 gram male BP
Scenario 2:
Divided 4x2 w/two 40watt RHP
I'm not sure which route I should go. My BP is currently in 40 breeder glass (36"x18") which is 648 square inches of floor space. The divided 4x2 yields 484 square inches of floor space. Meanwhile the 3x2 provides even more floor space than my current setup (which my bp doesn't use).
Any suggestions?
