1.1 het clown

If animals are 66% het. for a recessive trait it means that 66% of the animals are het. and not that each animal is 66% het. If you breed two 100% het. Clowns together you will get: (in theory)

1/4 Clowns
1/2 100% het. Clowns
1/4 normals

So of all the normal looking animals (3/4 or 75%) 2/3 or 66% is 100% het. Clown (in theory). Only problem is that there´s no visual difference between the hets. and the normals so the animals will be sold as 66% possible het.

Thanks Bas, thats clears things up, they do come with paperwork, and they are inexpensive, the guy is getting away from balls and getting into geckos.

here the difference

if you breed Het clown to Het clown
the normals would be 66% Het
(and if they produced a clown then parents are guaranteed 100% Het)


if you were to breed a Clown to a Het Clown or a Normal
the babies would be 100% het for clown


the reason being for the % difference is your breeding the actuall morph genetics into the babies
instead of possibly preeding the gentics into the babies

so

Morph to Het or Normal = 100% het babies
HET to HET = 66% Hets

Het to Normal = 50% possible Het

Each egg would have a 25% chance of being a clown.
